HOUSE REEF – SOUTH

The point of access to the reef opposite the Resort Diving centre is marked with buoys.

After descending over some stony coral mounds, a wall full of salad coral begins, that descends to 25 metres below the surface. The start of the plateau can be explored by heading toward the columns at a depth of 20-30 metres.

The larger column, with its anemone and clownfish, is crowned by fire coral with hatchetfish.

Going back up south-westwards into the coral garden, you can take a close look at the beautiful and varied animal life on the barrier, before returning to the buoys towards the exit. You may find turtles, lionfish, scorpionfish, moray eels, coral groupers, carangidae and barracuda.

DANGEROUS FISH AND CORALS

The indigenous fish living on the reef can be aggressive when faced with intrusions. Some fish and molluscs have poisonous spines or sharp blades; some corals may sting.

This is why you must never touch the living creatures or collect shells. Nevertheless, a doctor is available 24 hours a day, if needed.
